Our organization was originally established to support the public spaces at two retirement homes supported by Ohio Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. One facility was in Toledo and the other was in Cincinnati. Many things have changed since 1966 and so have we. The two facilities have been sold but our purpose continues to be providing support to retirement housing non-profit facilities through grants and gifts. And to honor the nursing profession by offering a Nursing Scholarship.

The Ohio BPW Retirement Foundation cordially invites you to become a Friend of the Foundation.
What? A Friend of the Foundation is someone who gives financially to the Foundation on an annual basis in order to support the grants and scholarships that the Foundation provides. This allows the work of the Foundation to continue over the years and supports those Ohio residents who have entered their “Golden Years” and to enhance their quality of life. Who? Any individual can become a Friend of the Foundation. Locals and Regions can also be Friends of the Foundation. How much does it cost? The annual monetary contribution to become a Friend is $25.00. Once an individual, LO or Region has made this minimum contribution, there are other levels of giving that are also renewable annually. These additional gifts further help support the work of the Foundation. No matter what level of giving is selected, contributors will be recognized as a Friend of the Foundation at Conference and with a Friend card to carry with you or display. Levels of Giving: Friend of the Foundation - $25.00, to be given for the current BPW/OH year. BRONZE LEVEL – $40.00, In addition to the $25.00 gift, an extra $15.00 SILVER LEVEL - $50.00, In addition to the $25.00 gift, an extra $25.00 GOLD LEVEL – $60.00, In addition to the $25.00 gift, an extra $35.00 PLATINUM LEVEL – $75.00, in addition to the $25.00 gift, an extra $50.00 PLATINUM Plus LEVEL – $100.00 or more, in addition to the $25.00 gift, an extra $75.00 or more for the year. All *gifts to the Foundation are always greatly appreciated. *The OBPWRF is a 501c 3. Donations are tax deductable.

Donations to Non-Profit / Low Income Subsidized Senior Housing Facilities
Ohio Business & Professional Women’s Retirement Foundation will continue to award upto five $500 grants across the state to support a non-profit, low income / subsidized senior housing facility. This grant is for a facility that provides documentation that the entity is operating under a 501c3 and they are a government facility and/or non-profit low income/subsidized housing for seniors, this is not necessarily a nursing home. Information will be sent to each local and region president. Each local may submit a request; upto five locals will be chosen to receive the grant. Application for a grant is accepted anytime until the deadline, April 20, 2024. $1,000.00 Nursing Scholarship
The Ohio Business & Professional Women’s Retirement Foundation will grant a $1,000.00 scholarship to a woman pursuing a nursing degree in any accredited school, or nursing program. A scholarship recipient will be selected by a committee after the March 31, 2023 deadline to submit applications. The recipient and all other applicants will be notified with a letter. The Nursing Scholarship Grant winner will be announced at the BPW OHIO annual conference. The purpose of our scholarship is to provide financial support to those interested in a career in nursing. Our policies governing the awarding of scholarships apply equally for all women. All information provided is kept confidential within the bounds of the review process. Applications must be completed in their entirety and accompany all required paperwork.
